Circuit des Remparts



First news from brother Andy and pal Jack who have returned to the UK from a trip by Porsche 911 to Angoulême for the Circuit des Remparts. I am told the picture is a rare 1947 Cooper 500 cc racer, with sports-type bodywork. Didn't old Coopers feature Fiat parts?

i think the Cooper is a 1947 T4, possibly the only one ever made; see:

it was entered in the 'Formule 3/500 cc' race as no. 92, driven by John Potts. As the above article suggests, it was not competitive against the conventional-bodied cars, mostly Coopers, and it ran round near the back, but we loved it!
