A shameful lack of local democracy in Lewes, East Sussex leads the citizens into taking the law into their own hands. Another parking meter bites the dust.
Whilst this column does not condone breaking the law one can appreciate the resentment felt by the locals towards the oppressive parking scheme in Lewes. Local businesses have been driven to the wall by the "Blue Meanies" who infest the town in Stasi-like fashion. A plague on the borough-mongers, sinecurists and tax-eaters!
